 The production of organic food bans the use of any pesticides, chemicals, GMOs , etc. which are the main chemicals that can harm us if we consume food that contain these chemicals. Organic farms are allowed to use natural methods of cultivation which is a healthier way to grow crops.

Organic food is higher in certain nutrients such as omega-3 fatty acids and are usually fresher than non organic produce because the food tends to stay fresh only for a limited amount of time hence it is sold closer to where it is grown.

The main positives of organic products are that they are GMO-free, GMO/GEs are responsible for altering the plant’s DNA , this is done with the intention to make the crops resistant to pesticides or to create insecticides which can cause harm to the human body.

Organic farming has a positive effect on the environment too, it greatly reduces pollution, soil erosion, and consumes less energy. Water conservation and increase in soil fertility are the other positive aspects of it. The people nearby as well as the animals are healthier because no pesticides are used hence there are no airborne contaminants around the farm well. 

Be cautious while purchasing organic food because some food might market themselves as  ‘natural’, but natural doesn’t mean organic. It is important to look for the certified organic label from your local organic certifier.
